5 On Trend Tableware Touches

Instagram’s love affair with tablescaping continues to burn bright in 2025, but which trends and tricks are taking over tastemakers’ feeds?  Clio and Clover founder Zoe Tsiligiannis breaks down the 5 on trend touches to guarantee your next dinner party becomes an instaworthy affair.

1. Food for thought

Food is the new tablescaping flex. Place silver trays of deep purple figs and grapes along the centre of the table to set the mood for an autumn feast. This Easter my go to centrepiece is to scatter a few gorgeous green artichokes with flecks of purple on the table.  A mandarin placed on each place setting evokes the scent and colour of summer and will make those dinner party pics pop.

2. European Countryside Charm

I take a lot of inspiration from the ultimate French countryside hostess Cordelia de Castellane, the creative mind behind Dior Maison. Her Joie de Vivre approach to tabslescaping is spontaneous yet traditional and most importantly never boring.  It’s as if you’ve got the linens out of your cupboard at the last minute, picked some lily of the valley from the garden, lit some candles and filled the table with delicious dishes. There’s a family feel to this style.

3. Mixing Materials

There are no rules anymore. Gone are the days of the perfectly symmetrical tablescape, it’s all about storytelling now. Rather than sticking to a specific material, styling tables by combining different elements – such as glass, silverwear and ceramics on a single table – is a trend. I find that, just like with interior design, mixing materials creates a more interesting and dynamic tablescape.

      4. Conversation starters...

From custom place cards and embroidered linen napkins to hand painted menus, these creative and surprising touches make for perfect conversation starters and add an element of playfulness, that sets the tone for a relaxed and enjoyable evening. For my birthday this year, in lieu of place cards, each guest went home with a napkin embroidered with a personalised phrase.

5. All Wrapped Up

Wrapping candles, plates and napkins in ribbons with long tails is an ongoing trend in 2025. It’s a delicate, simple way of adding drama, colour and texture to a clean white tablecloth.
